Located in the Hidden Lake chain of lakes in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest offers over 25 km of professionally track-set trails, miles of off trail skiing and telemark areas for skiers of all ability levels. With only three fully-equipped housekeeping cabins nestled in the woods on the lake, and a five mile over snow access, Wade Lake Resort offers a quiet, peaceful destination for couples or small groups.
Designated a Watchable Wildlife Viewing Site, Wade Lake, which stays partially ice-free in winter, provides habitat for bald eagles, trumpeter swans, waterfowl, river otters and beaver. From January through March, hundreds of native rainbow trout spawn in the stream below the resort. Instead of sharing the trails with people, you'll cross tracks with moose, elk, deer, coyote, bobcat, fox, ermine and snowshoe hares.
We provide a shuttle from the parking area off US 287 and the Madison River, or we'll shuttle your gear while you ski the trail in. After a vigorous day outdoors, soak in a wood-fired hot tub overlooking the lake. Prepare you own dinner or join us in the lodge.
If you're thinking of a winter trip to the Yellowstone area and would like the experience of a remote location, the assurance of great skiing in a Montana forest, and the comfort of your own cabin, then think of us.
